About Us

We are an interdisciplinary community of scholars, educators, researchers and clinicians dedicated to relieving the suffering of those with mortal illness and improving their quality of life. Our aim is to collectively realize this vision through our research and publication, our practices as health professionals, and our everyday transactions with others. We seek to forge new links between the many diverse communities committed to excellence in palliative care. We hold in high esteem the energy and synthesis of diverse approaches and perspectives that lead to innovation.

SERVICE
The Center provides resources to clinicians across disciplines and settings that practice palliative care. A practice of sharing is replacing competition and ensuring optimization of clinical care in our community.

TEACHING
The Center assembles educators from clinical and academic settings to teach students, trainees, and clinicians across disciplines and levels of training. The Center is committed to sponsoring or offering high quality, evidence-based educational offerings.

RESEARCH
The Center gathers researchers who have a shared interest in the conduct of collaborative, interdisciplinary, interdepartmental research. The Center is committed to expanding the body of science about palliative care.

ADVOCACY
The Center plays a significant role in National recognition of Palliative Medicine and significantly contributes to the promotion of knowledge and palliative practice among physicians caring for seriously ill people.
