Sally A. Norton, PhD, RN, FNAP, FPCN, FAAN

Dr. Sally Norton a faculty member at the University of Rochester where she is Associate Professor in the Elaine C. Hubbard Center for Nursing Research on Aging, School of Nursing; Co-Director of Research and Performance Improvement, Palliative Care Division, Dept. of Medicine; Associate Professor, Division of Medical Humanities and Clinical Ethics; and Associate Professor of Family medicine in the School of Medicine and Dentistry. She has received numerous awards for her leadership work in Palliative Care and is Principal or Co-Investigator on numerous grants. 

Dr. Norton is recognized for her published work, particularly in Communication at End of Life and more recently  as a prominent member of the AAHPM/HPNA "Measuring What Matters" Project.

Kate LaBeau, R.N. B.S., CHPN

Focusing in Palliative Care  and Advance Care Planning (ACP), Kate Labeau has served with passion as team lead of inpatient and outpatient programs about the care of all individuals regardless of health status.  In 2013, Kate began with Upper Peninsula Health Plan to implement Respecting Choices Last Steps^®/MI-POST across Michigan's Upper Peninsula (UP).  Building upon certification as Respecting Choices Instructor and Facilitator in First Steps^®, Kate became Last Steps^® Organizational Faculty in the UP of Michigan.   Collaborating with communities and systems to offer and support an ACP model that incorporates both First and Last Steps^® is her priority as the ACP Program Manager.
